Daphne examines with clients how behaviour changes relate to their thinking and feelings. She believes that a strong therapeutic alliance between therapist and client is essential to a successful therapy, and tries to establish an atmosphere of trust in which clients can tell their stories and feel understood and safe. She then supports clients in forming personal goals and striving to achieve these goals.

Daphne combines methods from cognitive behaviour therapy, humanistic counselling, solution-focused therapy, motivational interviewing and family systems. She is an empathic listener who works with clients towards being mindful of their strengths and overcoming barriers to personal development. Using experiential (e.g., role playing) as well as reflective methods, clients are encouraged to examine and challenge unhelpful assumptions, discover strengths, learn and practice new coping and problem solving skills and strive to attain personal goals.
